Documents Required for applying for the UK visa

Here is the checklist and information about the documents needed for applying for a student visa.
  • A valid passport
  • Acceptance or offer letter from the university
  • Proof of fund
  • ATAS certificate ( based on course requirement)
  • Age-proof of certificate
  • Medical proofs
Passport- The student needs to submit a valid passport. The submission might depend on visa application processes, if the student is applying in person at the UK embassy, then they need to submit a hard copy of the passport, and if is submitting an online application then they need to submit a properly scanned copy of the first and last pages of the passport. Acceptance Letter- The acceptance letter from the university will be provided once the student satisfies all the requirements for admission. This letter should be provided as proof for which course you are applying to and the university based on which your student visa will be provided with of how many hours a work permit has been proved. It would depend on the course and term timing.  Proof of funds- The financial documents that would support the statement that the student’s family or the sponsor has enough funds to support the complete education, emergency, and living expenses of the student during their study in the UK. If students applied for an educational loan or as fixed deposits, and savings then they need to submit the attested bank papers in support if they have property or gold, they need to submit valuation documents, salary, and businesses they need to submit tax documents. ATAS certificate- Academic Technology Approval Scheme this certificate is needed for a few specified courses, so the student can check before applying in the university portal, that for the course they are applying if they need to submit an ATAS certificate or not. Age-proof – The proof that student is above 16 if they are applying to a master’s program. If the student is less than 16 and applying for an undergraduate program in the UK then they should submit their age proof and can get one of their parents as dependent to the UK with them. Medical proof- The medical certificates signed by an approved doctor in the home country. Mainly students should provide a certificate that they are not suffering from tuberculosis and need to submit test results of tuberculosis authorized by a reputed diagnostic center.
